From August 15th to 18t, the International Symposium on Commemorating the 80th Anniversary of the Victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War was held in Jiujiang, Jiangxi Province. The conference aimed to promote deeper research into the history of the War of Resistance and to foster international academic exchange. The event was sponsored by nine renowned domestic universities and organized by the Center for the History of Republican China of Nanjing University and Jiujiang University. Esteemed experts and scholars from major universities and research institutions at home and abroad were invited.

On the morning of August 16, the opening ceremony was chaired by Zhu Xiaoli, Chair of the Jiangxi Normal University CPC Council. Jiang Wending, Deputy Secretary of the Jiujiang Municipal Committee and Mayor of Jiujiang; Wu Yongming, Secretary of the Education Department of the CPC Jiangxi Provincial Committee; Li Mingbin, Chair of the Jiujiang University CPC Council; and Zhu Qingbao, former Chair of the Jiangnan University CPC Council and Director of the Center for the History of Republican China of NJU, attended the opening ceremony and delivered remarks.

After the book launch, numerous scholars from both China and abroad delivered keynote speeches on topics within their respective research fields under the main theme of the War of Resistance. During the breakout sessions, presentations were held in six different venues. Attending experts engaged in discussions, offering unique, insightful, and profound perspectives. The scholars' presentations provide solid historical material support and new research paths for constructing a more systematic research framework for the history of the War of Resistance.
At 8 a.m. on August 17, the conference proceeded to its final roundtable session and closing ceremony, which was chaired by Zhang Lianhong, Vice President of Nanjing Normal University. Liang Chen, Dean of the School of History at NJU, delivered the concluding summary. He pointed out that research into the history of the War of Resistance must continue to broaden its horizons, innovate its methods, deepen the study of regional history and disadvantaged groups, and create new ways to pass on memory, to better articulate the global significance of China’s War of Resistance. With this, the International Symposium on Commemorating the 80th Anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War came to a successful conclusion.
